Chief of Army Staffs of Bangladesh General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan arrived Kathmandu for his four days official visit to Nepal. Lieutenant General Rajendra Bikram welcomed him at Tribhuwan International Airport.
Bangladesh Army chief is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Army chief General Gaurav Sumsher Rana. During his four days visit, Bangladesh Army Chief General Bhuiyan will also visit Nepal Army training center and inspect army battalion in Kathmandu.
On December 29, the Bangladeshi Army Chief is scheduled to lay a wreath at the ´Bir Smarak memorial´ at the Army Pavilion at Tundikhel in memory of the known and unknown brave soldiers who laid their lives for the country. Following this, the Nepalese Army will offer a guard of honor to the Bangladeshi Army Chief at the Army Headquarters.
General Bhuiyan will pay a courtesy call on CoAS General Rana at the Army Headquarters the same day and also attend a dinner reception to be hosted in his honour by the latter the same evening.
The Bangladeshi Army Chief is also scheduled to visit the Army Command and Staff College on December 29 and the Army Academy and the Valley Division Headquarters on December 30.
According to a press release of Directorate of Public Relations Nepal Army, General Bhuiyan will also meet president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and prime minister and defense minister Sushil Koirala before leaving Nepal.
