Prolong cold wave killed six person across the terai region, south of Nepal. According to RSS, a meeting of different teachers´ unions held here today decided to shutdown schools in Siraha for three days in view of the biting cold and thick fog gripping the district.
The decision comes in force from Wednesday till Friday, said Kumar Yadav, the Chairperson of Nepal Teachers Association, Siraha.
"The cold increased steeply in the district," shared Chairperson Yadav, adding that the students started to shiver badly.
So far, four people in the district have lost their lives because of the cold, a police report stated.
The chill has also increasingly made it difficult for the people for the outdoor activities.
The three-day holiday is believed to give some relief to the pupils of some 305 Primary Schools, 53 Secondary Schools and 74 Higher Secondary Schools in the district, added Yadav.
