Nepal’s court sends a human trafficker twenty years prison

District court of Nuwakot issued has sent a person in 20 years prison for his involvement in human trafficking.  A single bench of Nuwakot District Court judge Kiran Prasad Shivakoti delivered a verdict saying twenty one year old Sukman Tamang found guilty in selling two girls in Indian brothels.

The court also fined Rs.100,000.00 as a compensation for the two girls. The accused along with other three took two married sisters to India and sold them in brothel in 2009. With the help from Koseli Nepal, an NGO working against human trafficking, two women were  returned to Nepal and filed petition against those five involved in human trafficking.
