President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today attended a special function at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, organised by the Nepal Army to mark the Nepal Army Day coinciding with the MahaShivaratri.

On the occasion, President Yadav garlanded the 'Brave Soldier' monument at Tudinkhel and received the guard of honours.

President Dr Yadav is the Supreme Commander of the NA.

The President unveiled 'Sipahi' a journal published by the Directorate of the Public Relations of Nepal Army as well as presented prizes to the winners of Free-Fall Jump Show.

The Nepal Army (NA) has observed the Army Day by organizing a special function in the capital on Tuesday.

President Ram Baran Yadav, who is also the Supreme Commander of the NA, Vice President Parmanand Jha were present at the function organized to mark the Army Day which falls on the day of Mahashivaratri.

Similarly, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, CA Chairman Subas Nembang, Chief Justice Shri Ram Kumar Prasad Shah, Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Rana, among other dignitaries, were present at the program.

In a message he gave on the occasion of the Army Day 2015, the President stated that the trust and confidence of the people towards the army has significantly increased due to the laudable work carried out by the NA as a national army in different sectors.

The President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the NA, said, "The Nepalese Army has been making untiring efforts for the welfare and wellbeing of the entire country and the countrymen as well as for the overall national interest."
