Cambridge International Examinations offers new Nepal Studies AS Level
Cambridge International Examinations, has introduced, for the first time, a subject syllabus as part of the Cambridge Advanced qualifications portfolio which focusses on Nepal. The AS Level, Nepal Studies, will be available for the June examination series from June 2016 onwards and allows learners to develop an in-depth understanding of the elements that make up modem-day Nepal. The Nepal Studies course is offered at AS level. It offers learners a chance to study locally-relevant content while developing skills for the future. The curriculum encourages development of independent learning and analysis through medium of Nepal-centric course content.
The Nepal Studies AS Level has a similar global relevance, while remaining firmly rooted in the cultural, social and political history and current affairs of Nepal. The syllabus been developed with the learner at the heart: while the course content aims to build awareness of contemporary Nepal, it focuses attention on the importance of considering these issues in a rigorous, reasoned and analytical way. Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of the geography, history, international affairs, culture and economy of Nepal, alongside developing their own analysis, evaluation and independent thinking skills.
