Rejecting the Prime Minister Sushil Koirala’s second call for talks, the 30-party bloc of the opposition parties has decided to continue with the pre announced protest plan.

The meeting of the alliance held on Saturday rejected the government’s appeal for dialogue. PM Koirala on Friday had renewed his call for talks to the agitating UCPN (Maoist) and Madhes-based parties to resolve the contentious issues of the new statute.

“We had taken the earlier appeal of the PM positively. Now, the PM has again called for dialogue postponing the meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA). We have taken this as a positive step,” reads the decision of the alliance, “However, a conducive environment for formal high-level talks is yet to be created.”

Although the UCPN (Maoist)-led alliance has said it has taken the appeal positively, it is in no mood to leave agitation as it has intensified preparations for protest reports My Republica Online.
