A talk program was held recently on the development of Karnali region. Organized by KIRDARC-Nepal, the National level Karnali Kachahari on Economic Growth of the Mountain People: Promoting Rights and Fair Development is an initiative from the EC-funded project Economic Growth for Social Justice Supporting NTFP trade and business development in Karnali.

Inaugurating the talk program, chairman of the Development Committee of Legislature Parliament, Rabindra Adhikari stressed the need to provide necessary budget to build infrastructures in Karnali region. CA member Parbat Gurung demanded fair treatment for mountain and remote parts of Nepal in carrying out development projects.

Director General of Department of Forest Dr.Rajendra Pokharel said that Karnali is a region with enormous forest resources.  CA member Tula Raj Bista from Kalikot District and UMA Kunwar from Karnali also stressed the need to provide necessary support to build infrastructures in Karnali region.
