With the support from the French government, Alliance Française de Katmandu conducted 150 hours of French language courses. The courses were targeted to those officers who would be joining the UN peacekeeping mission in the near future. So far 31 Nepal Police officers have benefitted from these French courses.
The certificates were handed out by the French Ambassador, Martine Bassereau, in the presence of Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Rajendra Singh Bhandari of Nepal Police and visiting French Police Attaché from New Delhi Fabrice Grossir.
According to a press release issued by French Embassy, French Ambassador said: “We certainly hope that this will not be the end of the journey for those of you learning the French language but a wonderful beginning. We are sure that this would be very useful for those who would participate in the future UN peacekeeping missions and also for your career.”
