Japan’s Emergency Grant Aid to Nepal for the Earthquake Damage

Japanese government decided to extend Emergency Grant Aid of 1 billion Japanese yen (over 800 million US dollars) to support the Government of Nepal which has been suffering from the damage caused by the massive earthquake occurred on April 25.

According to a press release issued by Embassy of Japan, in view of the friendly relationships between Japan and Nepal, the Government of Japan decided to extend this grant following the dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Rescue Team and the provision of emergency relief goods (tents, blankets etc.) for the humanitarian support to the victims.

The Government of Japan makes its utmost efforts on these emergency humanitarian supports and continues to provide Nepal with effective assistance in the stage of recovery and reconstruction in a seamless manner.
