Government appointed Sugat Ratna Kansakar as a general manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation. Kansakar, who served previously as executive Chairman and managing director, played very important role to bring two new aircrafts to modernize Nepal Airlines. The cabinet appointed him for the period of four years.

Known for his good managerial skill, Kanskar played crucial role in modernizing Nepal's telecom sector when he head Nepal Telecom. Similarly, modernization of Nepal Airlines and purchasing of two Air Buses started during his tenure in NAC.
