Chief Executive Officer of NMB and president of Bankers' Association Nepal Upendra Paudyal hassaid that the current decision of Nepal Rastra Bank to increase the capital of Nepal's commercial banks up to 8 billion rupees is impractical.
Although increasing the capital will enhance the bank's efficiency and capability, the time given to increase the capital is short and we have already requested Nepal Rastra Bank to extend the time table, Paudyal said.
Speaking to Nayapatrika, CEO Paudyal said since the earthquake badly hit the economic sector, banking sector is not an exception. Paudyal said it is true that the earthquake has not affected the profits of bank but deposit has been increasing in high ratio and banks are mobilizing the deposits in cheap rate reducing the bank's property benefits.
