An aircraft of Yeti Airlines averted an accident at Bhairahawa Airport recently, thanks to the prompt action by the crew members.
On board were 28 passengers when the plane was taking off to Kathmandu.
Marketing Manager of the airlines Roshan Regmi informed captains duo Manish Shah and Bimala Gurung took the aircraft to grassy field when a flock of birds raced toward the plane while it was speeding on the runway.
“Accident was possible if birds had hit the plane,” said Regmi. “Efficiency of crew and prompt decision avoided possible mishap.”
All the passengers were safe and another aircraft was sent to bring them to the capital.
