Indian Embassy and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized 28th edition of Poemandu on Thursday at Nepal-Bharat Library in Nepal Airlines Building, New Road Gate.
According to a press release issued by Indian Embassy, this edition of Poemandu featured both eminent and promising poets of Nepal reciting their poems in Nepali, Hindi and English.
In this series of Poemandu, thirteen poets namely, Ram Chandra Dahal, Dilli Prasad, Abeeral Thapa, Bibek Adhikari, Smita Shrestha, Keshab Sigdel, Nawaraj Parajuli, Rhicha, Sajak Upadhyay, Mohan Lohani, Ishwari Karki and Laxmi Joshi recited their poems.
Before the recitations, Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, Abhay Kumar shared, “Poetry is a mirror of the society and poets have always contributed largely in the transformation of society, especially when the society is in its transition period. I am so glad that today we have with us both senior and young promising poets of Nepal reciting a variety of poems.”
The powerful poems recited at the event were well received from the audience.
Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, Abhay Kumar presented token of appreciation to the participants. He also recited selected poems from his recently released collection of poems Jatra.
