Indian Embassy organized Talk Program On Communal Harmony

Eminent author and Social activist Krishna Murari Gautam delivered a talk on “Responsibility to Strengthen Communal Harmony” under the Voices program organized at Nepal Bharat Library, Kathmandu to mark Communal Harmony Week 2015.

Gautam is founder Chairperson of Ageing Nepal which works for strengthening and empowering elderly people of Nepal since 2011. He is also known as Chatyang Master in literary circles and has authored six books.

During his one hour talk, he briefed about the different aspects of Communal Harmony. He shared basic characteristics of communal violence’s and also six point agenda for strengthening communal harmony. He stressed on the importance of intellectuals in establishing Communal Harmony. The program was attended by people from diverse cross section of the society.

Prior to his talk, Vinay Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission shared the importance of maintaining communal harmony in a diverse society. He added that need to celebrate unity in diversity have led to celebration of communal harmony week in India. Kumar mentioned that the relation between India and Nepal started since time immemorial and India only wants peace and prosperity in Nepal.
