French Ambassador-designate handed out a condolence letter by the Chief of Staff of the French Army to the father of a deceased French Army legionnaire.
Lal Bahadur Khapangi, a Legionnaire in the French Army, died on January 18th, 2016, due to an avalanche in the mountains of Val Frejus, France, during a military exercise.
In a ceremony organized at the French Embassy on February 23, 2016, French Ambassador-designate Yves Carmona handed a condolence letter addressed to Mohan Bahadur Khapangi, father of Lal Bahadur, by the Chief of Staff of the French Army General Jean-Pierre Bosser. In his letter, General Bosser recalled how Lal Bahadur was a committed and motivated combat engineer who showed a special interest in the field of rescue.
According to a press release issued by French Embassy, during the ceremony, French Ambassador-designate expressed his gratitude to Lal Bahadur for his commitment and his service and thanked the parents of Lal Bahadur for his upbringing
