Nepal Army observed the annual Army Day organizing various programs across the country on the occasion of Mahashivaratri on Monday.

A special function was organized at Army Pavilion in Tundikhel on the occasion. NA soldiers displayed parades and feu de joie, march pass, military drill and air formation and band display at Tundikhel to mark the day.

President Vidyadevi Bhandari, Vice President, PM KP Oli, and various high ranking government officials, chiefs of security bodies and heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal observed the programs at Tundikhel.

Along with president Bhandari, COAS General Rajendra Chhetri also distributed certificates and prizes to various army units.

Nepal Army has been celebrating the army day on Shivaratri festival since 2047 BS. Prior to that, the day was observed on Ghode Jatra festival.
