Chief of Army Staffs (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri left for four day visit to People’s Republic of China. Lieutenant General Baldev Raj Mahat was present at Tribbhuwan International Airport to see him off.
Those present at the airport include Defense Secretary Jaya Mukunda Khanal, senior army officers and Charge D' Affairs of Chinese Embassy.
This is the first visit of COAS Chhetri to People’s Republic of China Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Chhetri is paying his official visit to People’s Republic of China from March 27 to April 2 on the invitation of Chief of General Staff of People’s Liberation Army General Fang Fenghui.
The delegation includes spouse of COAS Rita Chhetri, head of Warfare Division Brigadier General and six others.
The delegation will take flight of Air China to Chengdu and Beijing. During the visit COAS General Chhetri will visit various infrastructures and units of People are Liberation Army and will meet high level officials.
”This kinds of visit helps to enhance existing warm relations between Nepali Army and Chinese Army bilateral and the visit will further strengthen bilateral relations of mutual interest,” said a press release issued by Directorate of Public Relations Nepal Army.
