Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri is leaving for ten days visit to United States of America on the invitation of US Government.
According to a press release issued by Directorate of Public Relations, Nepal Army, he will take part in the International Fellows Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (IHOF) organized by US Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and US Army War College, Carlisle Barrack Pennsylvania.
”This award is conferred to those highest level army officers from other countries who were trained in US Army War College. COAS General Chhetri is the first Nepali COAS to receive IHOF of both American Army Academy,” said a press release.
” Nepal Army believes that this kind of high level visit helps to strengthen and existing good bilateral relations and further strengthen the relations between the two armies,” said press release.
During his visit to US, COAS General Chhetri will also meet high level American officials and military officials. He will also meet UN Officials and inspect US Army bases. COAS General Chhetri will be accompanied by his wife Rita Chhetri and other three senior army officers.
He will return on May 5 after completion of his visit.
