‘Making it Big’, the inspiring story of Binod Chaudhary, Nepal’s first billionaire and the man behind the iconic Wai Wai noodles brand was launched at a glittering ceremony in the Indian capital of New Delhi. The book was unveiled by an august gathering including Dr. Naresh Trehan - Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta – The Medicity, Shatrughan Singha, Member of Parliament,  T Subbirami Reddy, Member of Parliament. Other prominent personalities including RC Bhargava (Chairman Maruti Suzuki Motors), Madan Mohan Mittal (Minister), Pawan Verma (Member of Parliament), Ramdas Agarwal (Former Member of Parliament) and founder President of International Vaish Federation and Ravi Jaipuria, Chairman of RJ Corp were also present on the occasion.

The highlight of the event was a tetete on ‘Making it Big’ between the Chaudhary and renowned author and editor of Fortune India Hindol Sengupta.  Indian spiritual master His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar made his presence felt as he wished  Chaudhary the best for the success of his book through a special televised message. The entire event was put together by Varun Chaudhary, scion of the group and the youngest son of Binod Chaudhary, making it an memorable and touching affair for the entire family.

The memoir was first published in Nepali by renowned Nepalese book publisher Nepalaya in 2013. It was later translated into English and published by Nepalaya in 2015. The present version of the memoir, ‘Making it Big’ has been revised and published by Penguin for South Asian markets excluding Nepal.

The memoir traces the life and journey of Binod Chaudhary, the empire builder and philanthropist.  Known for his indomitable passion for growing his business, the book narrates stiff challenges and obstacles he faced and his is legendary rise to setting up one of South Asia’s leading business groups – CG Corp Global. Binod Chaudhary is one of Asia’s most prominent businessmen. President of the Chaudhary Group which deals in banking, insurance, finance and housing, he has invested in hotels and real estate, and collaborates among others with India’s Taj Group. In 2013, he became the first Nepali entrepreneur to be listed as a dollar billionaire by Forbes.
