Eminent Indian artist Jatin Das attended an interaction program jointly organized by Delhi and Kathmandu Secretariats of BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, in association with Nepal Art Council, organized
According to a press release issued by Indian Embassy, Jatin Das is an eminent Indian artist who has been painting for more than 50 years. He has held over 68 one-man exhibitions in India and abroad and has participated in numerous national and international shows and artist camps. He was awarded the “Padma Bhushan” in 2012 by the Government of India and has also won many national and international awards. He has extensively lectured at innumerable art and architectural colleges and museums, both in India and abroad on contemporary and traditional art forms. He is also an advisor to many government and private bodies.
Artist Das gave a talk & presentation on various aspects of Art. Appreciating cultural heritage of South Asia, artists Das stressed on the need to encourage sensitivity towards preservation of nature as also of cultural & architectural heritage.
Artist Das has been in Nepal for the past one week & has delivered lectures at Arts Departments of Tribhuvan University & Kathmandu University. He is slated to speak at programs of Federation of Handicrafts Association of Nepal tomorrow at 4 pm and at the Nepal Art Council on 26th May at 4 pm.
