The 2nd meeting of the Japan-Nepal Political Dialogue between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries was held in Kathmandu on 29th June.
Jhabindra Prasad Aryal, Joint Secretary, North East Asia Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kazuya Nashida, Director-General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department co-chaired the meeting. From the Japanese side, Ambassador Masashi Ogawa and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Japan attended the meeting. From the Nepalese side, 15 other officials from the ministry and agencies participated in the meeting.
Both sides exchanged views on relations between the two countries, including on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and matters of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on international issues. The meeting concluded in a fruitful and cordial atmosphere.
After the dialogue meeting, Nashida paid courtesy calls on President, Bidhya Devi Bhandari, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa.
