Indian Embassy and B. P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized with Sur-Sudha and Siddhartha Art Gallery, a musical program, “Kathmandu Varanasi Sangitik Sandhya”, at Army Officers’ Club, Kathmandu on 30th July, 2016.
“Four Indian Classical musicians from Varanasi arrived in Kathmandu to participate in this programme alongside Nepalese artists. Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri was chief guest of the program,” said press release issued by Indian Embassy.
Nepalese music band Sur Sudha and vocalist Dr. Bishnu Poudel gave enthralling performances. Eminent Nepalese vocal artist and sarod player, Mohan Sundar Shrestha performed at the event. Indian artists included Shrawani Biswas on Sitar, and Sanjay Verma on Hawaiin Guitar, Shri Rajneesh Tiwari on Tabla, and vocalist Ram Shankar.
The program was attended by more than 500 persons including Senior Army Officers of Nepal Army, Nepalese musicians, foreign diplomats and media persons. The audience was found to be totally mesmerized by these captivating performances.
