Italian Government has formally appointed Pratima Pandé , MBE, as the Honorary Consul General to Nepal. In a function held in Hotel Radisson on 9th August 2016, the Italian government has formally appointed Mme Pratima Pandé, MBE as the Honorary Consul General in the presence of Damiano Francovigh (Italian Consul General, Kolkata).
In the same function Damiano Francovigh (Italian Consul General, Kolkata) has also conferred the award of “ Cavaliere dell’ Ordine delle Stella d’ Italia" to Nima Nuru Sherpa which has been granted to him by the Government of Italy for his contribution to enhance good relation between two countries.
According to a press release, the Consul general office has been established in Heritage Plaza Office Complex, 3rd Floor, Kamaladi, Kathmandu. The office will be assisting Italian nationals residing here and will also help Italian tourists visiting Nepal. The consul general office will also help to promote bilateral, cultural, trade & tourism between Nepal and Italy.
