The Embassy of Japan is organizing a jazz concert: Sadao Watanabe Jazz Concert, in Kathmandu on 22nd October and 23 October. It will feature the world renowned Japanese jazz artist, Sadao Watanabe, together with his group which consists of keyboardist Akira Onozuka, guitarist Takashi Yofu, bassist Koichi Osamu, drummer Masaharu Ishikawa, and percussionist N’diasse Niang.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Nepal. The aim is to celebrate this joyous occasion and to promote Japan and its traditional as well as contemporary cultures in Nepal.
Two concerts will be held, one on 22nd October (Saturday) and one on 23rd October (Sunday), at the Tribhuvan Army Officers' Club, Tundikhel. Free tickets are available at the Embassy of Japan on a first-come-first-served basis. Entrance to the concerts will be restricted to ticket holders.
“The Embassy of Japan hopes that the concerts will further promote cultural ties between Japan and Nepal, and contribute to an ever-growing friendly and cooperative relationship,” said a press release issued by Japanese Embassy.
