Embassy of India celebrated 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel by organizing a Screening of a Documentary of Sardar Patel’s life and a talk program on November 16. Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Hachhethu, a renowned political analyst and Professor of Political Science in Tribhuvan University was the key-note speaker at the event.
The Documentary showed the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in laying the foundation of an independent and unified India. It also threw light on Sardar Patel’s journey of life. He was a social leader who played a leading role in the India’s struggle for independence and guided its integration into a unified, independent nation. Professor (Dr.) Krishna Hachhethu talked about the outstanding contribution made by Sardar Patel in establishing system of State and Governance in India.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Shri Ranjit Rae talked about the contribution of Sardar Patel in strengthening Governance in India, especially in the development of Indian bureaucracy to its present stage. He also talked about the efforts put in by Sardar Patel in unification of India immediately after the independence.
Around 125 persons attended the program. The programmed ended with Vote of Thanks by Pranav Ganesh, First Secretary (Consular) and followed by refreshments.
