As part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Nepal, and aiming at promoting Japanese culture to the people of Nepal, the Embassy of Japan together with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association Nepal (JALTAN) is going to organize the Japanese Karaoke Competition.  

The program will continue from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Tribhuvan Army Officers' Club, Tundikhel, on Saturday, November 26.

According to a press release issued by Japanese Embassy, the competition is jointly supported by JICA Nepal Office, Japanese Association in Nepal; Japanese Universities Alumni Association, Nepal (JUAAN); JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN); and Nepal AOTS Alumni Society (NAAS).  Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Masashi Ogawa will attend the event.

During the competition, the audience will have an opportunity to enjoy, live, various traditional as well as contemporary Japanese songs, which they very rarely have a chance to hear in Kathmandu.  The competition will be organized among the Japanese Language students.  Entry passes, which are mandatory to enter the venue, are available at the Embassy of Japan, Panipokhari, as well as at JALTAN Office located at the Campus of International Languages, Exhibition Road on a first-come-first-served basis.

 It is hoped that this type of occasion will help promote cultural ties between the people of the two countries, which ultimately helps to expand the ever-growing friendly and cooperative relationship between Japan and Nepal.
