PATA Nepal Chapter held its launching ceremony of Himalayan Travel Mart 2017 on 4 December 2016 at Himalayan Horizon Hotel Sun "n" Snow, Dhulikhel amidst Representatives from the Tourism Ministry, Nepal Tourism Board, Tourism Organizations, Airlines, Hotels, Corporate Houses, Stake Holders and Media personalities.

Shankar Prasad Adhikari, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation attended the Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Andrew Jones, Chairman of PATA International and Matt Gibson, Inbound President of the Professional Travel Bloggers Association & CEO of Xpat Media were also present as the Special Guests.

“The logo of Himalayan Travel Mart, scheduled from 1-4 June, 2017 was unveiled with much pomp and show with participation of around 150 attendees to mark the start of a national event with the objective to uplift the Tourism of Nepala,”said a press release issued by PATA-Nepal

With the aim to re-define Adventure Tourism and also establish Nepal, as a Gateway to the Himalaya, PATA Nepal Chapter is organizing the Himalayan Travel Mart 2017 in Nepal from 1st- 4th of June 2017, with PATA International and other pertinent Stake Holders. It is a Business to Business Event where Buyers from Europe, North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Russia & CIS, Asia and Gulf with interest in Nepal and the Himalayan Region shall attend and Sellers comprise from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Pakistan. A one day Conference on key topics related to Hospitality & Tourism, Aviation and Management is also being organized with International Speakers from around the world. 200 International participants comprising of Tour Operators, Travel Bloggers & Media, International Speakers, Representatives and Guests of International Organizations will be partaking in the event.

Prior to HTM, PATA Nepal Chapter is organizing the International Bloggers & Media Conference from 22 May- 1st June, 2017 to show case the beauty of Nepal to International Travel Bloggers and Media persons. Delegates of the IBMC will participate at the celebration of Mt. Everest Day at International Mountain Museum on 29th May, 2017 in Pokhara.

The main organizing committee will be Chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Nepal Tourism Board and Industry Stake Holders from different Associations will be engaged as office bearers and members of the main organizing committee. PATA Nepal Chapter will act as the Secretary General of the main committee.

The program was jointly inaugurated by The Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Shankar Prasad Adhikari and Mr. Andrew Jones, Chairman of PATA International.
