Jagannath Pant, LDO, Sarlahi and Badri Narayan Mishra, Principal, Bal Govinda Janta Higher Secondary School Gyanveer Singh, Second Secretary of Indian Embassy signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) for construction of the school building for Bal Govinda Janta Higher Secondary School, Pipariya -7, Sarlahi. The building will be constructed with the total financial assistance of NRs. 10 million by the India under its Small Development Programme Scheme as part of India–Nepal Economic Cooperation Program.
Established as primary school, Bal Govinda Janta Higher Secondary School was upgraded to the level of Secondary School in 1996. At present, there are approximately 1000 students in the school who would be benefitted with the construction of the new building. The new infrastructure will motivate the students receiving education in the school and contribute to the development of education facilities in the district.
According to the MoU, the District Development Committee would prepare a work schedule and invite tenders for the construction of the project in 15 months. The School Management Committee comprising School Principal, District Engineer and District Education Officer would monitor the project and regularly submit the progress report to the Embassy of India, Kathmandu which shall release the funds accordingly. According to a press release issued by Indian Embassy, 07 other projects have been completed and 12 other projects Sarlahi District are under implementation with the Government of India’s financial assistance worth NRs 500 million. Additionally, the Government of India has, in the past, provided 27 ambulances and 01 bus, recognizing the need of the people of the district.
