Nepal Red Cross Society and NIC ASIA Bank have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on conducting Blood donation Campaign across the country under the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Bank. The MOU was signed by Laxman Risal- CEO of NIC ASIA Bank and Dev Ratna Dhakwa- General Secretary of Nepal Red Cross Society amidst a function organized by the Bank today.
As per the arrangements between these two esteemed institutions, NIC ASIA will bear the financial costs for organizing 100 blood donation camps whereas Nepal Red Cross Society will work on the technical part of blood collection, storage and distribution for effective management of blood donations across the country.
Further, NIC ASIA Bank and Nepal Red Cross Society will organize and conduct awareness program about blood donation and motivation programs to educate the people to donate blood. These two institutions have a vision to collaborate and strategic partnership for institutionalization of blood donation. Though blood donation is a fundamental need and urgency of basic health, however the public infrastructure related to blood donations requires proper management and standardization which these two institutions have identified to work on as a long term objective of the program.
“NIC ASIA which is in its growth spree for expansion of its business and footprints across the country also has taken CSR as a drive to make an effort to positively change the society. The Bank has initiated a tree plantation program with an aim to plant more than 7000 trees across the country to contribute to greenery and environment. The bank has also initiated a financial literacy program to bring in underprivileged and marginalized communities yet to be serviced by the main stream banking,” said a press release issued by NIC ASIA.
Nepal Red Cross Society- an institution dedicated to community service joining hands with NIC ASIA for CSR project is an example in the community that two institutions can create synergy for social projects/ service.
