Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador of Nepal to India, met Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow.
According to a press release issued by Nepalese Embassy in India, they discussed about various aspects of Nepal-India relations including culture, tourism, border infrastructure and connectivity, border administration, inundation and water management, among others.
They also discussed about establishing direct air connection between Kathmandu/Pokhara and Varanasi/Lucknow/Gorakhpur as well as better connecting the main cultural sites on both sides in order to promote tourism.
Ambassador Upadhyay raised the matter about illegally constructed structures within the Lalita Ghat premises and requested for intervention of Uttar Pradesh Government to remove such constructions. It may be noted that Lalita Ghat premises is a Nepali property in Varanasi that include historical monuments built some 200 years before in Nepali style. Hon Chief Minister assured to help in resolving the matter.
The Ambassador invited Chief Minister to pay a visit to Nepal at a convenient time.
