The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu celebrated the 156 th birth anniversary of Biswa Kabi Rabindranath Tagore and 118 th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on 27 July 2017.

Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mashfee Binte Shams welcomed the guest at Tribhuwan Army Club.

The Embassy organized a cultural program to mark the occasion at the Nepal Army Officer’s Club Auditorium in Kathmandu. Noted Rabindra Sangeet artist Avik Deb and Nazrul Geeti singer Sharmin Shathi Moyna presented a mesmerizing show rendering selected songs of Tagore and Nazrul. The program was widely attended by a largely Nepalese audience from all walks of life.

According to a press release issued by Embassy of Bangladesh, the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama was also associated with the Embassy in the presentation of the program. The program was co-sponsored by the Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd.
