As the flood continues to create panic in most parts of Nepal due to heavy rain making the situation abnormal, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba directed concerned officials to prepare for relief and rescue operation.

With the direction of Prime Minister Deuba, Home Ministry also alerted Police and armed police to move. As the flood situation is worsening, eastern Nepal is cut off with rest of the country. The life in Birtnagar, Jhapa and Ithari, Jankpur, Bardia has badly affected.

Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara requested Indian government to open all the gate of Kosi barrage given the rising water level in Nepal.

Flood Forecasting Division issues a flood warning at 6 PM to the people living in central, eastern, western and far-western region to take precautionary steps as the low pressures near Nepal’s Chure hill will likely to trigger heavy rain in many places of Nepal.

The rain will cover all the region ranges from Mahabharat to Churee. As there is heavy rain at Mahabharat and Chure, the water level is above the danger level in Kankai and Mohana, Rapti rivers.

Flood Forecasting Division requested people living in Jhapa, Ilam, Morang, Sunsari,Saptari, Udayapur, Dhanusha. Rautahat, Sarlahi, Makwanpur, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalpararsi, Rupendhi, Kapilvastu, Kachanpur and Kailali to move in safe place. All the rivers originated from Mahabharat across the Nepal are carrying water above the warning level.

Water Level of East Rapti at Rajaiya  and Water Level of Bagmati River is also going to higher. Water Level of Koshi River at Chatara at water Level of Kankai River at Mainachuli is rising higher than Danger Level.

According to Metrological Forecasting division highest rain fall recorded in Nepalgunj 169.3, Dang 167.4, Simara 217.2, Kathmandu  30.5 and Jankapur  137.6.

The division says mostly cloudy throughout the country. Light to moderate rain to continue at many places in the country , chances of heavy rainfall at a few places of the country tonight and mostly cloudy throughout the country. The division predicts light to moderate rain to occur at many places in the country, chances of heavy rainfall at a few places of the central and western regions.
