Nepalese ambassador to Thailand Dr. Khaga Nath Adhikari said that Nepal has immense trade and investment opportunities. He highlighted the facilities available for foreign investors and also detailed the areas for investment.

Addressing a program organized by the Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok on Business/Tourism Promotion programme in Vientiane, the capital city of Lao PDR, Ambassador Dr. Adhikari urged entrepreneurs to come to Nepal.

Thanongsinh Kanlagna, Acting President of Laos' National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, travel agencies/tour operators, the business community, and media, as well as Nepali community in Vientiane, participated in the programme.

First Secretary Ramesh Kumar Charmakar made a presentation on tourism/trekking opportunities in Nepal. In his presentation, he highlighted tourism attractions and opportunities in Nepal, focusing on three areas: Adventure, Nature, and Culture.

Thanongsinh Kanlagna, the Acting President of Laos' National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also addressed the gathering. He stated that Nepal and Laos are very good friends and that there exist many opportunities for promoting a business relationship between the two countries. He also thanked the Embassy of Nepal for organizing the programme in Vientiane.

Kiran Kumar Shah, a Nepali businessman in Vientiane, who greatly helped in organizing the programme, proposed a vote of thanks to the participants.

This is the first time that the Embassy of Nepal organized a programme in Laos focusing on business opportunities in Nepal. The programme is believed to have contributed to giving added publicity about Nepal and thereby promoting Nepal’s business/investment/tourism.
