Indian ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun at the ministry. During the meeting, minister Pun requested Indian ambassador Puri to facilitate to bring more energy from India to Nepal in competitive market.

Minister Pun also requested Indian ambassador Puri to support Nepal to construct 400 kV Butwal Gorakhpur Transmission line. According to a press release issued by Minister Pun’s secretariat that Indian ambassador Puri informed Pun that India is willing to finalize the construction of Arun III and Pancheswor Hydropower project during the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to India.

Minister Pun has said that Nepal is giving top priority to the construction of Pancheswor hydropower project.
