Newer laws against rape were implemented from 17 August 2018. These new laws have increased penalties for the perpetrator, the age of consent, and the time-frame for reporting a rape. However, the state has failed to provide justice to the 13-year old Nirmala Panta and others for over a long period of time to only continuously provide facetious investigation reports and probes.
