Even minor aircraft repairs costs a fortune. Just about a week ago there was a serious incident involving an Ariana jet throwing a dust storm as the B737 overran runway at Khost (KHT) as its rear rubbed against the terrain. Thankfully, it still managed to get airborne even after tearing the perimeter fence.

It is extremely rare to find a pilot survive a major accident.

Assuming that the Indian side has a valid concern, even as a layman, I feel it is not normally possible to stop such low strength signal crossing over the border. With India being so sensitive about transgression, it must have found a novel way to block such signals at the border.

It is interesting that Edmund Hillary was instrumental in "preparing" the landing strip in the mountain pasture of Mingbo (4,573m) in the shadows of AmaDablam around that time and was approached by Capt. Schrieber, a Pilatus pilot, to know if it was possible to build a suitable strip for unloading supplies in the Khumbu region.
