Abortion: Pro-life Or Pro Choice
The harsh provisions of the old law induced unsafe abortion and sometimes even a spontaneous abortion would be misclassified as infanticide, willful killing or murder. This shows that the law did not clearly distinguish between abortion and murder and as a consequence, many women were obliged to stay behind bars.

In the same context constitution of Nepal 2072 has provided right to equality under article 18 and under the article 38 it has provided right to women where right to safe motherhood and reproductive right has been secured.
