Despite amending the citizenship act and sending the door-to-door citizenship distribution teams several times, a large number of Nepali people, particularly marginalized Dalit and indigenous community of the southern plains, living in eastern Nepal, are yet to secure their citizenship certificates. Although they have been living in the Nepalese territory for generations, they are denied the citizenship certificate, which is mandatory for citizens to get the basic services provided by the state. The result is that these people have been living in miserable conditions outside of state’s formal programs

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 58 years ago, Israel has been supporting Nepal in various areas and the bilateral relations between the two countries have become stronger over time.
