MONSOON FLOOD Wreaking Havoc
As the monsoon floods are routine, rescue, relief and rehabilitation are the regular parts of the disaster and flood management in Nepal. With the shift of human settlement in the river banks and low land flood-prone areas and construction of roads and other development activities, the destruction of life and property has also intensified in those areas. Badly damaging two new settlements by Melamchi, Indrawati and Marsyangdi rivers have shown settlements and infrastructures developed along with riverside are under growing risk.
