13th SAG Rise Of Gaurika
Nepal has made a history by securing the highest number of medals in South Asian Games, the 13th South Asian Games saw swimmer Gaurika Singh winning four gold medals. Nepal’s overall performance in long distance running was quite well as Nepal bagged three gold medals, including one in marathon and 10,000 meters. Along with floods of medals in marshal art, Nepal’s winning football final was highly important. In between grand opening and closing ceremonies, India, as usual, retained its dominance securing over 312 Medals, including 174 gold. At the closing ceremony, Nepal handed over the flag to Pakistan as a host to the 14th South Asian Games. Sports lovers hope SAG will not face the fate of SAARC.
