Senior leader of the UCPN (Maoist) Baburam Bhattarai said the opposition alliance will not sit for talks with the ruling parties until and unless they withdraw the majoritarian process.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters Club at the UCPN (Maoist) party office in Peris Danda Thursday, leader Bhattarai said the ruling parties should withdraw their decision taken through the Constituent Assembly on January 25 and should agree to hold talks without condition.

“There is no relevance of holding talks with the ruling parties after they forcefully entered the majoritarian process on January 25 undermining the consensus process, Bhattarai said.

The ruling parties adopted the majoritarian process through the Constituent Assembly meeting four days ago.

Bhattarai further said that there is no alternative to hitting the streets after they were found hell-bent to promulgate the new constitution on the majority of the votes by completely breaching the past agreements.
